No Greenwashing
So-called organic hair cosmetics are usually based on the same synthetic, petroleum-based ingredients that are harmful to health and the environment as conventional hair cosmetics - e.g. quaternary ammonium compounds and silicones as active conditioners, which are poorly biodegradable, accumulate in water and sometimes have aquatic toxicity. Plant-based active ingredients are often only present in low concentrations and are primarily used for marketing purposes.
"If you want to be quite sure whether it is genuine natural cosmetics or just a greenwashing brand, it is best to stick to the organic certificates. Genuine organic products usually come with one of the numerous organic seals." Dr Doris Brandhuber, co-founder of Less is More with Seal.
Less is More products are not only natural, but controlled BIO according to the Austrian Food Book by Austria Bio Garantie or COSMOS.
